“I like creating work that is both expansive and intimate, with highly saturated visuals that honour the digital aesthetic. In a world where the line between what’s ‘real’ and digital is increasingly blurred, CGI becomes indistinguishable from reality.”
For the last few years, David O’Meara has been working primarily with developments in technology, creating photo composites as a foundation, before editing and illustrating over them. These images walk a fine line between forms.
The works, with their striped pedestrian crossings, sit between worlds. In doing so, they evoke a familiar sense of longing, hovering above crowds, as if waiting to re-enter the action.
